Daddy's Eyes, Mommy's....

Since Cooper's birth, we have all been trying to figure out exactly what Cooper inherited from me.

Well I guess we can put that question to rest.

Cooper's Got His Momma's Laugh

Cooper's New Best Friend

So Cooper is fascinated by the dogs and they in turn are very patient with him. He loves to grab them and touch them, much to my chagrin, since his hands inevitably then make their way to his mouth after these encounters (one doesn't have a washcloth handy every minute you know) . I was lucky enough to witness first hand their communication. Let's watch such an encounter...

Cooper: "YOU! YOU MY DOG!!!"

Cooper: "Give. Me. HAND!!! (I am assuming Cooper could theoretically know HAND, but I am positive this conversation would not contain PAW).

Chloe: "Slow down little buddy or I will have to hump your head."

Does This Diaper Make My Butt Look Big??

So we've had a nice relaxing weekend, with not too much going on. We always have so much to do, it was really nice to have some down time. I've had Friday and Monday off, so we have had movie marathons and a some sleeping in (when the boss allows it). Cooper got some new Baby Einstein videos from Jerica (thank you Jer, he loves them and it gives us a few minutes of freedom!!) And tomorrow I get to go for a massage and get my hair done. I really tried to send Brandon in for the massage, but he refused so I just can't feel too guilty!!

Dude, your head is huge!

Cooper got to meet his cute cousin Holden last weekend. But a few months makes a huge difference....

especially in the noggin.

It's Six Foot, Seven Foot, Eight Foot Bunch!

Oh No! Day-O!
Like all good things-the drum circle had to come to an end!
Maybe we will have better luck with the didgeridoo....

Evrything I Need to No I Lernt in Skool

I got schooled, so to speak, today at lunch by my co-workers. I found out exactly how far behind I already am on planning for Cooper's scholastic career. I learned I really need to be picking houses according to the best school districts so I can participate in the lottery to get to send my kid to a charter school or a magnet school. I can focus his educational goals on liberal arts type programs with an emphasis on language, including a school that has a curriculum of both Mandarin Chinese and Arabic, with the goal of a tri-lingual child. Or the schools that focus on medicine, math and technology, or how about pre-law. Oh and this is not just at the high school level, nooooo, these important decisions need to be made for enrollment in one of these programs at the kindergarten level. Not only that but I also learned about the pre-school programs I really need to be considering. One co-worker told me about her grandaughter's pre-school that has an extensive waiting list, a 5K annual tuition, and a ten-step application process that includes comprehensive testing of the child, a two hour interview, and a separate interview to evaluate the parents (the parents?? oh, we are soooooo screwed).
What ever happened to reedin', ritin', and rithmatic (and I really don't know how to spell that one-case in point for specialized education).

Blah! Blah!

Arrrgh!

Shiver me timbers, ye scurvy scallywags! The little landlubber here looked too much like a swashbuckler, me couldn't resist a walk on the plank!

We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot.
We're beggars and blighters and ne'er-do-well cads.
Aye! But we're loved by our mommies and dads!

Something New for the New Year

With the New Year, we decided it was time to try eating. Cooper did excellent (of course the kid knows how to eat!) He is our kid after all.

Happy New Years!

We had a super great New Years party at Jamie's house. It was fun to hang out with all my yammas and Cooper had a fun time checking every thing out. And Jer, Cooper says he is sorry for being mean and he loves his Christmas present!

Here are my New Year's Resolutions, in pictures:

Lose Weight

Be More Active

Take More Risks
Here are some more realistic resolutions:
  • Just for today, I will not sit in my living room all day in my pajamas. Instead, I will move my computer into the bedroom.
  • I will not feel guilty when I have chocolate and coffee for breakfast (or again for lunch).
  • I will not bore my boss with the same excuse for taking leave. I will think of some more excuses.
  • I will do less laundry and use more deodorant.
  • I will watch more tv.
  • I will start buying lottery tickets at luckier store.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2009 be your best year ever!!
