Trip to the Zoo

So we went to our indoor Zoo today and I wanted to share with you the highlights (from Cooper's point of view):

Oh my gosh! I am sooo excited to go to the ZOO I could pee my pants (and probably did)!

I freakin' LOVE the Zebra exhibit! Whooo-Zebras ROCK!!!

I jumped the fence and showed that pussycat who the real King of the Jungle is!!

Shut up HORTON! Why can't you be faithful 99% of the time??

Yee-haw!! I love the Zoo and my mom is the best mom ever for taking me!

7 Months!

I wanted to list off all the things Cooper is doing as he hits the 7 month mark:
  • He loves to bring his hands together and hit himself in the face.
  • He has been sitting up really well, but if he gets excited (which he often does) he still falls over.
  • He is close to crawling and sticks his bum in the air and does the superman. He especially tries to crawl when we put a water bottle in front of him-he loves him some water bottles.
  • We found out through choking and gagging that Cooper does not like fresh sweet potatoes.
  • He chews on everything, I mean everything. But still no teeth, but he does have a hard spot on his gum that I really think might be a tooth (or at least a really hard gum).
  • He has become very interested in the dogs; what they do, where they go, and he likes to grab them (causing them to shake uncontrollably).
  • He is soooo happy and giggles all the time, the only time he is grumpy is if he is hungry or tired (just like his parents).
  • He rolls over and over and over and can get just about anywhere and he stands up well if you hold him.
  • He loves to blow bubbles and still drools constantly.
  • He loves to play the little piggies on his toes and loves to grab his feet (and pull of his socks and eat them).
  • When he is bored or mad, he doesn't cry-but honks. Brandon says it is just like being on Jeopardy and getting every answer wrong.

Truck You, Doubters!

To all of you who doubted Cooper's earlier acts of linguistic genius- read on, read on....
Sunday while playing with our flash cards, Cooper very clearly said 'uck' in response to the green truck card. He said it several more times, but by the time Brandon got there, he refused to say anything and Brandon had great doubts about the miracle of my wonderbaby. To reward Cooper (and maybe urge him to say it again) I even went out and bought him a little truck (and green to boot!) But alas, instead of saying anything, he screamed (in the store, mind you) as I tried to take the truck away from him when he kept putting the Hong Kong plastic in his mouth and eating the cardboard tag (and you have no idea how hard it is to check out without the aforementioned stupid tag).

Oh, yeah....I'm bad to the bone (or the bone-like chew toy)

The future's so bright, I have to wear shades!
In case you missed it, it's Pullin. Cooper Pullin. And I like my bottle shaken, not stirred.
Thanks Shari and Mitch for the awesome shirt and Perry and Kelly for the fabulous new hat (Cooper loves to wear it all the time!)

What's Up? Snot Much...

We've been a sick little family (I included a healthy, but misleading, pic). And while Cooper seems almost better-I know this is an indication of things to come. So what do you do for stuffy heads and colds for babies (please post advice)?

Been on the B-day Party Circuit!

The last two weeks have been a busy blur of birthday parties. Last Friday we had a nice dinner at home for Brandon's birthday and the next day we had Lisa and Rob's little boy Parker's 3rd b-day party and Andrea's husband Bryon's party that night. This weekend we had John and Megan's baby Robbie's 1st birthday party and we had Grandma and Grandpa come visit too. We also had a wonderful lobster V-day dinner and Cooper got a new high chair (that he LOVES) Here are some highlights of our party patrol:

Jamie and Kevin introduced Cooper to a Slurpee. Can we say sugar high? He was good to go for all the parties-all day long and helped give tours at Andrea's house way past his bedtime.

At Parker's party Cooper got to hang with his new BFF Robbie.

You can tell Robbie is Coop's new buddy because he did try to eat him. He only eats those he really likes (and no Robbie is not trying to escape Cooper's gumming of his shoulder, I am sure he liked it).

Here we are getting ready to go to Robbie's party yesterday. Cooper had a lot of fun and Robbie had a talking Elmo that Cooper thought was fascinating (Robbie was VERY nice and let Cooper play with all his toys--see I told you he didn't mind the bite).

Whoa! Whose Going to Watch Me (And Do My Hair)?

We are on the two week countdown before Brandon has to go to work. It is pretty depressing, but I did talk to work and they said that I can keep my 4 day week (whoo-hoo!) I have also been on a waiting list for daycare for 6 months and when I called them there were still 35 people in front of me. So we had to scramble around and find another one (I called 20 other places-lots with waiting lists!). We finally decided on one close to our house that opens at 6:00 so I can get to work early and they do all sort of fun stuff and even teach sign language. Now we just need to take out a second mortgage to pay for it...ha.ha..just kidding....kinda....

Tag?

Ok, this is for the tagging from Katie, although I am not sure how to do this. And this isn't from a particular folder since I can't save anything on my computer because of my frequent ability to crash it:)

This was taken last month when my comedy routine had the CooperMan crackin' up!

Here Sharkie, Sharkie...

I know the kid doesn't look dangerous-but he is. He's a shark who has to check everything out with his mouth. We were playing finger puppets and he yanked the puppet off my finger and promptly shoved it in his pie hole. After deciding it wasn't that tasty, he promptly threw it as far as his little arm could throw. So much for the puppet show.

On Friday I made Brandon a delicious birthday dinner and Cooper insisted he had to sit on my lap. After several vain attempts at grabbing my plate, fork, placemat, etc. He finally gave up and began to gnaw on the side of the table.

Grandma and Grandpa's House

We went down to Burley over the weekend and had a lot of fun. Cooper got to play with Meadow and Scout (Kenna and Mike's kids) who visited us Friday. Cooper was a little nervous with Grandpa, but after a few days-he warmed up to him (Grandpa even tried to shave up his beard a bit to not appear scary--the result was a lovely Lenin-esque goatee).
After a few days though, Cooper was happy to come back to his house and nap (6 dogs made napping a little difficult) and the pesky cat kept climbing the balcony in the middle of the night to meow and would promptly climb back up the balcony after he was put in the garage!
